Validated manufacturer data confirms SteriCUBE’s faster dry times, reduced bioburden, and significant operational savings. Independent studies and manufacturer validations demonstrate SteriCUBE’s efficiency, safety improvements, and measurable cost reductions.
Zimmer Biomet has validated a 5-minute dry time for ZB instruments processed in SteriCUBE. This is an 83% reduction versus the 30-minute dry time required by other orthopedic companies.
For a facility running 8 joint replacement procedures daily, efficiency can translate to 10 additional procedures per day and 50% fewer instrument sets required — time back for SPD, faster turnover for the OR, and fewer redundant trays.

Ensuring Sterility at Scale: A One-Year Analysis of SteriCUBE®in a High-Volume Surgical Facility
Over a one-year period in a high-volume facility, SteriCUBE Specialists examined nearly 15,000 trays, and determined approximately 8% of post-SPD inspection trays contained visible foreign bodies or bioburden. After independent secondary inspection by the SteriCUBE Specialists, foreign material incidence was reduced to 0.02%.
Poster Presentation: HSPA 2026
Secondary inspection identified retained bioburden, of which blood and bone were the most frequent contamination types. Grooves, holes, and trays were the most common contamination locations. Data supports need for enhanced primary inspection workflows. Trays, trials, broaches, impactors, and tibial preparation instruments are the most common instruments found with bioburden over a 2-week interval, an independent secondary check, performed by SteriCUBE Specialists, prevented 42 trays with bioburden from reaching the OR.

Poster Presentation: OR Manager Conference 2016 Innovation in Sterilization - The Multiple Tray Sterilization System
After evaluating the product at HSS, we have determined that the CUBE consistently saves approximately one minute per tray of OR room opening time. In addition, there was a significant reduction in packaging materials and CSP staff preparation time.
The predicted savings generated by the use of this technology could be well over $7,000,000.00 annually for hospitals with high volumes of orthopedic procedures. The elements in calculating savings included costs of packaging materials, staff labor, overhead and waste.
